How often should you do Pilates?
Two, three or five times a week — and how to tell which one you are.
Two, three or five times a week? The honest answer depends on what you want from it and what else is in your week. Here's how to think about it.
Once a week
A good way to start, and better than nothing. The challenge is that a week is a long time for your body to remember a new movement pattern, so progress tends to be slower. Many people start here and move up once they're comfortable.
Twice a week
For most people this is where it starts to click. Two sessions a week is often enough for the movements to become familiar and for changes to show up in how you move day to day. It's also sustainable around work and other training.
Three times a week
This is where Pilates becomes a practice rather than a class. At three sessions a week you build on each session before the last has faded. Group sessions run every day of the week, so the rhythm is yours to set.
More than three
Possible, especially if you mix types of class — a reformer session, a Lagree class, a Stretch & Release day. At this point, variety and rest matter as much as frequency. Life Club is built for people who train this often.
Listen to recovery
If you're consistently sore, tired or feeling flat, drop a session. More isn't automatically better. A lighter week, or swapping a hard class for a stretch session, often helps you come back stronger.
Consistency beats intensity
Two sessions a week for three months will teach your body more than an intense fortnight followed by a month off. Choose a frequency you can actually keep.
Choosing a pack
Our packs map directly onto these frequencies: once, twice or three times a week, over one, three or six months. If you're unsure, start with four sessions and see how it fits your week.
